About

I’m Matt Hatfield, an artist & designer, marketing consultant, and business owner based in Somers CT. I bring a personal, hands-on approach to graphic design, website design, and creative problem solving, with a background that spans both corporate in-house leadership and independent studio work. Aside from work with my Creative Studio, Hatfield Creative, I take on a limited number of freelance projects with local businesses – something I am truly passionate about.

Experience and industries

For more than 14 years, I’ve worked across branding, design, content creation, and marketing strategy, including leading in-house marketing and design efforts for organizations like Hospeco Brands Group, High-Tech Conversions, Blue Thunder Technologies, and DaVinci Technologies. Much of my experience comes from industries where accuracy matters and the work needs to hold up under real operational demands.

Industries I have experience with:

  • Manufacturers, contract manufacturers, distributors, and co-packers
  • Food and beverage brands, including regulated labeling and production environments
  • Cleanrooms and controlled environments, including contamination control industries
  • Pharmaceutical and sterile compounding environments where compliance expectations shape communication

This background means my approach is both creative, yet intentional and data-driven. I bridge aesthetic with sales and business goals.

Compliance and high-stakes experience

Over the years, I’ve developed a strong working familiarity with requirements and standards including TTB and FDA labeling considerations, and the type of design accuracy needed in OSHA and ISO environments.

Personal story and style

I’ve been a creative person for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Arizona drawing logos and redesigning packaging before I even knew what branding was. After earning a degree in Visual Communications, I moved to Connecticut and continued my education in Fine Art with a focus in Graphic Design. My influences range from early printing and vintage 1920s design to bold, colorful pop-art. I love work that feels hand made, honest, and intentional.

What I do today

Today I split my work between client projects, personal creative work, and two businesses.

Hatfield Creative is my studio for branding, packaging, beverage label design, and ongoing marketing support. Graphic Cabin is where I offer decals, signage, floor graphics, and print-focused products.
